Drive of Life thoughts

Well, I finally got to watch the prized "Drive of Life"! I tried watching it on Veoh, but it kept on pausing so I downloaded it. So far, I have up to episode 6 in Cantonese.

I must say, the theme video for the TVB version of the Drive is better (in my opinion) than the one CCTV had. (for once, TVB beats CCTV, haha) I especially enjoyed the part where Charmaine extends her arm out and this stream of light loops around her arm and passes her fingertips (she has a bony hand...), and then goes to Ray and he 'catches' it.

As for the beginning, I didn't like how they showed the 2007 scene. It tells us that the series will have a happy ending and who will end up together. Since I read the character synopsis, I knew who'd end up together, so now spoiler for me!

I'd have to say that I didn't enjoy Sheren's shouting scene when she found out that Michael had an affair. Too much overreacting! (It was like a Gigi Lai scene from WAB) I just like her calm. Her character is kind of freaky though. She has like TOTAL control over Man Shek. Then again, Man Shek is a useless wimp, but I do feel sorry for him, because he's stuck between the Wah's and the Wong's. Their daughter is useless. Period. (At least so far)

At first, I didn't really look forward to the scenes where it was pure mainland actors, but I found Feng Shao Feng's character, Wah Zhen Man. He looked so funny with those sunglasses! I really enjoyed this character.

Ray's character, Wah Zhen Pong, is really similar to his character, Ngoh Sui, in Yummy Yummy at first. They're both spoiled and have impossible dreams. At least he has a heart (He felt bad that Charmaine twisted her ankle for running over to him to get the contract signed on time).

Charmaine's character is...well, I don't know how to describe it. She's a really good business women, loves her mom a lot, but I feel sorry for her when her superior at her was feeling all over her back. (Urgh.)

One last thing. I made a banner, based on Wing Sau Fung!
Enjoy.

Wahh..New Blog!

Wow, I have my very own blog now as of July 17, 2007. Very excited...of course!

Side note: I will use this pre-made Ray template until I can stop being lazy and start making my own.

So, the "Drive of Life" started airing in Hong Kong yesterday. I tried to look for live streaming of TVB Jade online, and I did! Too bad the happiness didn't last long. Since I'm living in the PST time zone, it means that I am 15 hours behind HK. Which also means...if I wanted to watch DOL in bad quality, I'd have to wake up at 6:30am each morning on weekdays. Pretty sad, now that I think about it. No worries though, I had my friend tape it, since she's going to be in HK for the whole summer (even missing some of school, that lucky loser xD).

Oi! I haven't even introduced myself. (As if anyone's actually reading this blog..but still, I'm really bored right now, haha!)

I won't tell you my real name, but I am a hardcore TVB fan! (A very new one though) I have watch some TVB serials, but I've always watched serials after 2000. Don't know why, but I don't really enjoy older stuff (even Hollywood old movies, unless I'm really bored and they're showing it on TV) for some reason, even they probably have better plots, as my friend Nate tells me. Biased I am!

I'm also a Chamaine Sheh fan. The story behind this really has nothing to do with me being captivated by her acting though. She was the first TVB actress I learned the name of. (Even though I'm Chinese, I can hardly read and can barely write Chinese...sad, isn't it? Ah well, I'm whitewashed, as my friend dearly tells me every chance she gets!) I think I first saw her when "Perish in the Name of Love" was airing on FairChild TV (yes, I'm from Canada). Then I started really, really pay attention to whatever series Charmaine is in. No older than 2000 though.

The series that really captivated me was "
War and Beauty" (See? Another Charmaine series!) I read it on Wikipedia and saw it was a really good show, with lots of awards under its belt, as you can say. I started to download it, but that took me 3 weeks. What further angered me more was when it was finally finished downloading....IT WAS IN MANDARIN. *sigh* Luckily I found Crunchyroll, so I could watch it off there. I would go on, but that shall be another post, my friends.

Anyway, Taelin's out!
